1. Stockport LDF Core Strategy DPD: Consultation on Proposed 'Submission' Documents

 

Stockport Council has published the Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) Proposed ‘Submission’ Documents. In line with the regulations which guide the Core Strategy’s preparation, the Council is inviting comments on the legality and soundness of the document.

 

The period for comments to be made will run from Monday 7th June to 5pm Monday 19th July 2010. It will not be possible for representations received after the deadline to be considered.

 

The following documents will be available on deposit throughout the consultation period:

• Stockport Core Strategy DPD (publication version);
• Sustainability Appraisal (SA) report;
• Annexes to the Sustainability Appraisal report; and
• Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA) report;

In addition a note is available setting out the latest position in relation to Woodford Aerodrome “Area of Opportunity”.

 

The documents have been published in order for representations to be made prior to submission of the Core Strategy DPD to the Secretary of State. Representations received during the period will be considered alongside the submitted DPD, which will be examined by an independent Planning Inspector. The purpose of the examination is to consider whether the Core Strategy complies with legal requirements and meets the “tests of soundness”.

 

The documents will be available to view during the consultation period at the following locations:

• Online on the Council’s Policy Consultation Portal.
• At the Council’s main Planning Reception (Hygarth House, 103 Wellington Road South, Stockport SK1 3TT) between 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday; and
• At all local libraries and Stockport Direct Local Centres (including mobile libraries) between the hours 9am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

The Council strongly encourages you to submit comments relating to the legality and/or soundness of the document using the 'Add Comments' button in the online version of the document. Alternatively comments forms can be picked up at any of the deposit locations or downloaded from the 'Supporting Documents' tab of the online version.  

 

Various other supporting documents and evidence studies are also available via the online version of the document – either on the ‘Supporting Documents’ tab or linked to directly from within the main Core Strategy document. These include a statement of the consultation that has taken place on the Core Strategy up to this point and the Infrastructure Plan (which details how infrastructure required to support the Core Strategy will be delivered).
