Nature Reserve not Houses and Tescos

I grew up in Woodford, and it's wonderful to see the place again online like this - more pictures please.
I will come back regularly for updates on the future of the old BAe site. I hope it doesn't just end up being more houses and horrible Tescos - I vote for a nature reserve...

Medical Centres of Excellence
Would this not be a golden opportunity for medical 'Centres of Excellence'? Christie Hospital is overcrowded and very cramped, parking is dreadful not to mention extremely stressful.
Why could a new Christie Hospital not be built on this site along with some other all singing and all dancing centres of excellence?
They would be in the middle of the country right next to Manchester airport and excellent motorway links. How fantastic would that be for transporting vital organs for transplant? The heart unit at Wythenshawe hospital would be well placed there and think of all the hips and knees that could get done there in a purpose built unit?
We are an ageing population with all its attendant problems and such facilities are going to be much called upon in the near future.

Call for a Campaign for Jobs
When listening to the various questions and responses at the Meeting last week (27/1/11) I was particularly drawn to the questioner who asked about the prospects of attracting industries to the Site so that jobs rather than just houses can be created in this area. I feel that this should not be dismissed lightly as a possibility.
I realize it is not straightforward to attract either funding or financial concessions to help businesses relocate but I would be willing to join with any others who are interested in pursuing this as a possibility to think through what, if anything we could do to facilitate this.
